Welcome to the Campbell Building
The Campbell Building has been a staple of downtown Cave City, Arkansas, since it was built back in the 1920s. For over two decades, from 1953 to 1974, it was home to "Campbell's Mercantile," run by the friendly faces of Ernest and Iva Jewel Campbell, their children, and local employees.
Back then, you could find everything you needed right there in the store. It wasn't just a place to buy goods; it was a hub of community life. The Campbells knew everyone by name and treated everyone like family. They weren't just shopkeepers; they were friends and neighbors dedicated to making their place better.
Even now, folks still talk about days spent gathering and shopping at Campbell's Mercantile. It's more than just memories; it's a part of our town's story—a reminder of simpler times and the bonds that hold us all together. Today, grandson Jonas Anderson and family are restoring this piece of Cave City history, so that it can continue to house small businesses owned by people who care about their community, and the people who call it home.
